I ride with the Peaks and Dales Bikers. A great bunch of Bikers who are passionate about biking of all sorts. We have a regular Wednesday night ride out and Sunday rides as and when organised. All members of the group can suggest and lead a route if they wish.
All routes have a destination and waypoints shared before the ride, and many have the GPX route shared via MyRouteApp.
We have various drop off systems depending on the size of the group. All systems are designed to enable safe riding and a marked waypoint for turning. The satnav is just your failsafe.
All of this reduces the need for people to feel they need to “keep up” or “bunch up”. You can relax, knowing that if you need to turn there will be someone waiting to direct you or for you to follow.
Is it a club?
No. It doesn’t need to be. It is a group of like minded Bikers who enjoy riding. This also means there is no hierarchy, politics or nonsense. You can ride with us and go and ride with whoever you like. We will not stop you.
Just rides or Tours as well?
When we ride together we also plan bigger things. Currently (2025) three members are part of a Tour to Germany in September. There is a Norwegian trip planned by some, and I feel like a trip to Morocco in Early 2027. Being part of the group makes you part of the conversation and planning. All tours currently are individually paid for at cost. Someone may block book a ferry but then each member pays their own part of the bill.
